Overview

RETAIN Ohio

RETAIN is a program from the US Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy in collaboration with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Mercy Health.

IS A RECENT INJURY OR ILLNESS AFFECTING YOUR ABILITY TO WORK?

If so, you could be eligible to join the RETAIN program, which is focused on helping ill and injured workers recover, rebound and remain active.  It is important to take an active role in your recovery and return-to-work plan.

The longer you stay away from work, the harder it will be to return and to earn as much as you did before.

Staying active is good for you and speeds up the healing process.

This program can assist ill and injured workers with recovery, staying employed and continuing to earn a paycheck.

Participation in RETAIN is free of charge, and completely voluntary.

Our RETAIN team may be able to help you with:

  • Stress caused by scheduling medical appointments and filling out forms.
  • Uncertainty over when you can safely return to work.
  • Concerns about your income and how to pay your bills.
  • Modifications to your job that would enable you to work.

What Services can RETAIN Ohio offer?

If you meet the criteria for care coordination, our Health Services Coordinator can:

  • Assist you with your recovery to get your life back to normal and stay employed.
  • Help you communicate with your doctor, employer, or insurer to stay on the road to recover and return to work.
  • Contact your employer to arrange temporary strategies that will enable you to work while you heal.

Who Can Participate?

You may qualify to participate if:

  • You've suffered an injury or illness that did not occur at work.
  • You are between the ages of 18-65.
  • Within the past three months, your injury limited your ability to work or to perform your job well.
  • You are currently employed or seeking a job.
