Mercy Health – Cincinnati announces that Robert J. Maloney, Jr., FACHE, DPT, MBA, has joined Mercy Health as Chief Operating Officer of Anderson Hospital.
Maloney assumed his role on June 18 and reports to Ken James, Mercy Health East Market President and CEO. As the chief operating officer, Maloney’s responsibilities include oversight of hospital operations, including multiple clinical and support departments.
Before joining Mercy Health, Maloney served as chief operating officer of Frankfort Regional Medical Center, part of the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), in Frankfort, Kentucky. Previously, he was vice president of operations for HCA’s Lewisgale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia and also served as senior director of operations improvement for HCA in Richmond, Virginia. He has held leadership roles in rehabilitation and physical therapy services.
Maloney earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama.

Maloney and his wife have four children and are relocating from Frankfort to Cincinnati.
