Meet the Director and Team — Internal Medicine Residency at Anderson Hospital

Welcome from the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mercy Health – Anderson Hospital!

This program is a newly established internal medicine program and as such, aspires to be an exciting program that combines a strong and innovative academic curriculum with a powerful and diverse clinical experience. Our program puts the resident at the center with an emphasis on close and friendly teaching methods, coupled with a great work-life balance. Our purpose is to give the best medical care to our patients by our understanding that this is achievable with both a sturdy and challenging education program, while maintaining excellent harmony between personal and professional aspects. We have an excellent faculty and team that is dedicated to extensive teaching of the residents. We emphasize gradual and in-depth learning with a special focus on evidence-based medicine.

Our program has a few distinctive and innovative features which include: a unique, state-of-the-art point of care ultrasound program (that will prepare our residents for independence in POCUS), an advanced simulation center to help simulates ACLS (advanced cardiac life support), ultrasound learning and more. Our program offers special opportunities to rotate in public health clinics such as addiction centers, public health facilities, occupational health sites and more for the residents that will want to focus in public health and we may offer support in completing MPH for selected residents. Our most important mission is to prepare you as an excellent clinician. We will enable building leadership skills by participating in leadership committees and sponsoring, if possible, leadership courses and activities, toward your future careers. Our hospital combines the benefits of a community hospital with a friendly, diverse and supportive faculty and staff, while serving as a multi-specialty regional center. Our residents can enjoy a wonderful high-quality community, very affordable accommodation, free, advanced HealthPlex and more.

As a program director, I will work hard to help you build your career as a competitive internal medicine specialist, toward your future career in fellowship or as a hospitalist and/or primary care physician. While aspiring to give you the best education possible, we will work on developing your other clinical skills so at the end of the residency you will be the best physician you can while giving the patients high quality and compassionate care.

I will be more than happy to answer questions regarding our exciting internal medicine residency, and I wish you all the best in whatever choice you make!
