Program Overview
Thank you for your interest in the PGY 2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program offered by Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. We are pleased you have taken time to learn more about our residency program. Our program received initial accreditation by ASHP in 2011 and we most recently had a successful survey in September of 2020.
Mercy Health St. Rita’s is a Level II trauma facility. St. Rita’s provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient care. St. Rita’s offers a maternity center, acute inpatient rehabilitation, congestive heart failure clinic, cardiac rehab, diabetes clinic, women’s wellness center and an oncology center. Pharmacy services include decentralized clinical pharmacists, specialized critical care and emergency medicine pharmacists, retail pharmacy and outpatient anticoagulation management services. With a modern facility, St. Rita’s takes a leadership role in providing quality care and community development.
Our mission is to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities while bringing good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved. Pharmacy works towards this mission by providing excellent care to all patients with the goal of achieving the best medication-related outcomes possible. The goals of our PGY 2 program are to build on the first-year pharmacy resident education and outcomes to contribute to the development of pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients and eligible for specialty board certification.
