Thank you for your interest in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center. Our mission is to train outstanding emergency physicians who are clinically excellent, intellectually curious and committed to serving their patients and communities.

Our curriculum provides comprehensive training across the full spectrum of emergency medicine, emphasizing a physiologic approach to clinical decision-making within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. From the first day of residency, our residents are entrusted with meaningful responsibility while receiving close faculty mentorship in an environment that values both autonomy and support.

Mercy Health — St. Rita's Medical Center is part of Bon Secours Mercy Health, the largest health system in Ohio. As a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center and STEMI Receiving Center, we provide residents with exposure to a wide variety of high-acuity pathology. Our emergency department cares for approximately 57,000 patients each year, with an admission rate of 24 percent, offering exceptional clinical training experience. As the largest health care provider in our region, St. Rita's serves nearly 200,000 patients annually, ensuring residents encounter the breadth and complexity of emergency medicine from the very beginning of training.
