Meet the Director and Team — Pharmacy Residency at St. Charles Hospital

Welcome from the Program Director

Residents obtain experience in a wide variety of practice settings under the guidance of experienced and caring preceptors. Monthly rotations include core rotations along with a wide variety of elective options allow the resident to explore individual interests. Residents gain valuable experience through the design and execution of their residency research project, longitudinal committee and leadership activities, staffing, drug information activities and involvement with outpatient medication management.

Residents participate in a teaching certificate program through Ohio Northern University as well as teach and mentor pharmacy students, medical residents and other healthcare professionals during the residency.

Our educational philosophy is residents learn more from doing than from seeing or hearing. This program is designed to facilitate growth in clinical practice and will focus on communication, critical assessment, teaching and leadership in team-based care and quality improvement projects. Upon completion, the resident will have the necessary skills to function as an independent, competent pharmacy practitioner with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and diverse patient populations.

Thank you for your interest in our residency at St. Charles Hospital. We are proud of the program we have developed and the opportunities available to our pharmacy residents. We look forward to the possibility of meeting with you!
