Benefits and Compensation

Salary

  • $59,700 (includes travel and meeting expenses)

Insurance

  • Eligibility for benefits starts on July 1.  A comprehensive benefits package which includes health, dental and vision coverage is provided at a nominal cost for the resident.

Paid Time Off

  • Vacation: 80 hours
  • Interviews: Up to three days
  • Holidays: Seven days

Academic Stipend

Registration and travel expenses for the ASHP Midyear Meeting in December and the Ohio Pharmacy Residency Conference in May have been included in the resident stipend and are the responsibility of the resident. Additional funds are provided for continuing education and conferences as needed per the discretion of the residency program director and clinical pharmacy manager.

Call Schedule

There is no on-call requirement for residency.

Average Hours a Week

Residents work an average of 45 hours per week without including additional project time for such activities as the resident research project, presentation preparation, assigned readings, etc.  

Lifestyle in the Area

Located on Lake Erie in northwest Ohio, Toledo has a population of more than 275,000 people. It is nicknamed “The Glass City” due to the historical significance of glass manufacturing in the area. There are many wonderful activities in the area including the Toledo Zoo, Toledo Museum of Art and an extensive Metroparks system. Other options include attending festivals and events, supporting the local sports teams and dining out at one of the numerous restaurants in the area.
