Frequently Asked Questions — Pharmacy Residency at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital

When does the residency year begin?

The last week of June, including a one-week hospital orientation for new residents.

What is the service/staffing requirement?

The residents’ service requirement is every third weekend (two 10-hour shifts) and one four-hour evening shift every three weeks comprised of both clinical services (consultation service) and pharmacy staffing.

Each resident will take five weeks of call (one week in the fall and four in the spring) with a preceptor for back-up support. These weeks will align with your in-hospital service requirement.
