Frequently Asked Questions — Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent Medical Center

What is the call schedule?

Residents take in-house call during PGY-2 and PGY-3 based on their rotations. Residents are not scheduled for in-house call more than every third night. There is a night float shift in place for the PGY 1 residents on Inpatient Family Medicine rotations while working with a senior resident. First-year residents will not be scheduled on Night Float for more than six consecutive nights.

Do you offer pre-match positions?

No, we do not offer out of match positions.

What is your selection process?

Due to the large volume of applicants, we cannot interview every applicant. Match is very competitive, so we recommend that you apply early and carefully review our preferred criteria.
